SPRING 2027
THE SPOTLIGHT PROJECT
ACTING & PRODUCTION CLASS

This spring, Performance Supply Company's Acting & Production class will bring three original 30-minute one-act plays to life, each written and directed by one of three specially selected PSC student playwrights, under the mentorship of Ms. Jodie.
As an actor in this exciting production, you'll rehearse and perform in all three plays, gaining experience with a variety of characters, directors, and performance styles. Throughout the semester, you'll receive comprehensive acting instruction from Ms. Jodie including characterization, blocking, stage movement, motivation, script analysis, improvisation, ensemble work, choreography, and confident stage performance.
While the actors are developing their performance skills, Ms. Jodie will mentor the three student playwrights and directors through every stage of the creative process. From script development and casting to staging, rehearsals, and final performances, she will oversee every aspect of the productions to ensure a high-quality educational experience and polished performances.
The three playwright/directors and their play premises are: Kellyjune Harrison--Kids who would rather hack NASA than clean their rooms; Ashley Nguyen--A dance competition gone wrong; and Abraham Nguyen--A remake of the Grimm tale, The Fisherman & His Wife, that has three greedy women troubling the poor man.
The semester culminates in three fully staged public performances at Camp Shiloh, featuring Performance Supply Company's professional pipe-and-drape theatre, theatrical lighting, sound system, props, costumes, and production elements.
Whether your dream is to become a stronger actor, gain confidence on stage, or experience the excitement of creating original plays from the very first rehearsal to opening night, this class offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn, perform, and grow in a supportive, Christ-centered theatre environment.
